Camino de Santiago Holy Year 2027
Can we invite you to do something different in 2027?
A few years ago, Fr. Albert Garong told me it's his dream to walk the Camino de Santiago. His dream lit a spark in my heart, and it never went away.
I'm turning 40, and this is my 40th birthday goal.
Now we're inviting you to walk it with us.
100 Kilometer walk to Santiao de Compostela
-
Walk with us from Sarria to the Holy Door of Santiago Cathedral.
-
Offer every step for someone you love, and arrive changed.
-
You won't walk alone; we'll laugh, listen, and support each other all the way to Santiago.
-
We're sharing this early so you have about a year to get ready, one walk at a time.
WHY IS CAMINO 2027 SPECIAL?
-
A Holy Year on the Camino de Santiago
-
2027 is a Holy Year, also called a Xacobeo. It happens when the feast of St. James, July 25, falls on a Sunday, which means only every 5 to 11 years.
-
The Holy Door of Santiago Cathedral opens and stays open all year.
-
5 to 11 years is the gap between Holy Years. They are rare and worth planning for.
-
2032 is the next Holy Year, so don't let this one pass.
-
Catholic pilgrims who visit the tomb of St. James and meet the Church's usual conditions can receive a plenary indulgence.
