When I was in Grade School, my Fridays would be different from the other kids. They would be partying because they can sleep late, eat junk food, watch tv, and many more.

Although, it would be different for me because my dad would call me and give me a big bag of money. Woah! May allowance na ako for next week but not really.

He would give me a piece of paper with the name of our workers and how much they were going to be paid that week.

I distribute the money to separate envelopes that would be given to each worker. It’s my job to make sure that Mang Gaspar gets 1500 pesos, or Mang Rudy gets 2000 pesos, or Mang Policarpio gets 500 pesos.

I had the responsibility of making sure that our workers would get their weekly wages; I was in-charge of sharing the blessing to them.

I learned from my dad the value of people – of why you should take care and pay your employees well – we bless our workers because our workers are blessing their families.

My dad is not a preacher, or a multinational CEO, or an author, rather, he was a businessman with 20 workers under him, and he taught me the value of blessing people with whatever you do and whatever you have.

Fast forward to 2015, when I was finishing my book, A Young Man’s Manual to A Successful Life, I was freaking out because it’s a book for men, and most men don’t read. They watch TV and eat buffet.

I also freaked out because I thought “Who will read my book? I’m no Bo Sanchez, George Gabriel or Arun Gogna, probably mas gwapo ako sa kanila pero they are better writers than me.“

That’s when I remember my dad’s teaching that you bless people with what you have. That’s when I realized that I should just give my best, and whoever will read my book will be blessed by its miracle.

Today, I’m surprised because the book sales are doing really well, plus in Born-Again Churches, and most especially Feast Manila, they use my book as a light group guide to mentor the men there.

Because of this, I’ve decided to start a new movement on helping men be great, watch out for it. It’s called, “The Man Cave” and our goal is to help men to respect women, to become more hardworking, to believe in themselves, to serve God, and many more.

I truly believe that if there are more great men out there, there will be less families in pain!

Friend, God created you for a purpose. As the Bible says, Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother’s womb. I thank you, High God – you’re breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration – what a creation! (Psalm 139:13-14 The Message)

Friends, you don’t have to be an author or a preacher to bless people. You can be like my dad who took care of his employees, or taught great things to his son.

Friends living small is ruining your life, start dreaming better dreams, start living a great life!

You are a blessing to the world!

The Best Is Yet To Come,

JPaul Hernandez
