Before best-selling self-help books by John Maxwell, Tony Robbins, Napoleon Hill, T. Harv Eker, Bo Sanchez, and others, the original success book was the bible. And what’s impressive is in this age of technology and social media the success of teaching it has for work, finances, and business are still relevant.
Let me share some with you:
“Patience leads to abundant understanding, but impatience leads to stupid mistakes.”
– Proverbs 14:29
Which means don’t make an impulsive life decision, take your time, sleep on it, and decide when you are sure about it.
“During the seventh year let the land lie unplowed and unused. Then the poor among your people may get food from it, and the wild animals may eat what is left. Do the same with your vineyard and your olive grove.
– Exodus 23:11
In farming, every year there’s a part of your land that you should not use because you are resting it. The nutrients of the soil should be restarted every 7th year or else no crop would grow there. In work, we have what we call a sabbatical because we need a good long rest to refrain us from experiencing burn out.
“The borrower is a slave to the lender.”
– Proverbs 22:7
In your personal finances, you should do your best to not get into debt. If you are, figure out a way to get out of it because there’ll be no peace in your life you have financial debt. If you want to start a business, don’t start it with debt because you won’t be paying yourself for the work you do. Instead, your income will go to the bank.
“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
– Proverbs 27:17
One of my favorite bible verses of all time. Which means, if you want to succeed in life, you need the right mentors, the right inner circle, and the right support system to help you get to where you want to go.
“First pride, then the crash – the bigger the ego, the harder the fall.”
– Proverbs 16:18
Do I even have to explain it? Pride will destroy your success, your team’s success, your company’s success and everything else. I can fill a whole book with just the principles from Proverbs, and there are a lot more in the bible, check it out.
Yes, Jesus wants to bless the work of your hands. He wants to bless your vision and wants you to live a successful life.
Today, I invite you to try making God’s word to be your success manual as well, it’s not just about the traditional idea of praying and doing religious activities, but following God also means leaving your miserable old life, and living your best experience possible.
To live in abundance so you can share that abundance with God’s people.
Personally, I believe that preaching and serving at the Feast is not enough, but I have to be a good steward of my family, finances, and faith as well. That what’s real success is.
My goal is to make my success, not about me but to give glory to God. That what if people will experience God’s love when they figure out that God of heaven and earth hates seeing them suffer.
Are you ready to let God take charge of your life?
The best is yet to come,
